The newest episode of Rick and Morty features a whirlwind of toxic behavior and narcissism.

Who is the real Beth? Who is the clone? And has Justin Roiland and Dan Harmon finally address the Jerry clone that was left to isolation back in Season Two?

These questions are just the tip of the iceberg in episode three of the newest season of Rick and Morty. Since the start of the season, Space Beth has taken up residency at the Sanchez’s per the request of her clone, Housewife Beth. And maybe she should have stayed in space.

And in classic Rick & Morty fashion, the audience is drawn back to the infamous dinner table where nothing goes as plan. Celebrating Thanksgiving dinner was no different. As Jerry spews his toast, Space Beth and Housewife Beth break out that red wine and share a glass together.

Any fan of the show knows that when Beth decides to drink a glass of red (assuming cheap), shit inevitably goes left. That sense of loneliness and isolation that Beth innately feel comes to a clash once again. However, this time, the audience is subjected a toxic, sexual adventure, when Space Beth makes a move toward herself.

Talk about a narc.

The audience witnesses a hilarious entanglement that follows Space Beth & Housewife Beth on a space-affair odyssey. Yet, this affair only brings instant trauma to Summer & Morty, who catch the two engaging in sex numerous times. It’s hard to believe when these kids are going to catch a break. And speaking of when… how old are they now?

Anyway, the heart of this episode lies within Jerry Smith who begins the episode, frighteningly expressing his love for his wife, Housewife Beth at the dinner table. But in the episode’s climax, Space Beth reveals to Jerry that she is having an affair with his current wife. Hilariously, Jerry rolls up into a bug to the shock of the entire family.

The episode brilliantly depicts how we deal with complex relationships without the proper communication. Also, life can just be cruel when you open up your heart to the wrong person. Look, Beth and Jerry’s relationship is toxic and beyond saving. That is crystal clear. But who doesn’t love good make-up sex.

The show clearly ignores those consistent red flags that churn up throughout the show for questionable resolves. And that became abundantly clear, when Jerry, Space Beth, and Housewife Beth engage in a threesome, much to the dismay of Rick, Summer, and Morty finishing Thanksgiving dinner downstairs.

So, as always, no lesson was learned here. Just another classic Rick and Morty adventure that seems to be kicking back into familiar gear in the sixth season of the show.
